    Carroll's Saddlery & Produce was established in 1991 when Anne & Greg Carroll purchased a small feed store in Ararat, Victoria.  Anne's love for horses started very early on when she purchased a rather lively little coloured mare called Trixie who took her through pony club and trail riding.  After leaving school she travelled north to pursue her dream of working outback, doing everything from jillerooing on cattle stations to strapping polo ponies.  On returning to Ararat she met up with Greg and together they became involved in endurance riding and campaigned several horses quite successfully.  Then followed a move into training racehorses and it was not unusual to see the whole family, now grown to three daughters, up at the crack of dawn accompanying  Greg to work the horse at the local track.  Pony club duties then took over as Louise, Stephanie and Rowena became accomplished riders and began showing and competing around the region. 
 
    Anne attained her Pony Club Level 1 Instructors certificate and for many years coached at Ararat; the last couple of years have seen both Greg and Anne delivering C Certificate instruction to young Ararat riders.
    These days, Anne is a riding member of Grampians Riding Club, and enjoys trail rides and competes in dressage with 'Frank'.  Greg is undertaking the handling and education of 'Ringo', an anglo-arab colt born to 'Peanut' their ex-racer and endurance mare.
